General

The questions most people open with.

If you’ve never done breathwork, start here.

I've never done breathwork before. Is the circle the right first room?
Yes. The circles are designed to be a person's first experience of Conscious Connected Breathing. Sessions are paced, the cues are clear, and the facilitator stays in the room with you the whole time. If you'd rather try a shorter, lower-stakes version first, the daily fifteen-minute MP3 is a good way in.
Is this drug-related? What is 'Psychedelic Breathwork'?
No substances are used. 'Psychedelic Breathwork' is a name some facilitators use for Conscious Connected Breathing because of the depth of the experience it produces. People often report vivid imagery, emotional release, and a sense of expanded connection. The practice is breath only. Every circle is sober. Anyone suspected of being under the influence will be asked to leave.
Will I feel something? What if I don't?
Most people feel a noticeable shift within ten or fifteen minutes. Tingling in the hands, warmth, emotion close to the surface, sometimes imagery. Some sessions are dramatic and some are quiet. Both are useful. The practice is not a performance, and nothing is wrong if your session is on the quieter end.
Is breathwork safe?
For most healthy adults, Conscious Connected Breathing is safe and well-tolerated. Because the practice can produce strong emotional and physiological responses, it is not recommended for people with severe cardiovascular conditions, untreated epilepsy, recent strokes, late-stage pregnancy, active psychosis, or bipolar disorder in a manic phase. If you're unsure whether breathwork is right for you, send a note through the contact form before booking.
What if I cry?
Crying is welcome and common. The room is built for it.
What if I'd rather not share?
Sharing is always optional. You can sit in the circle, take the journaling time, and pass on the speaking round entirely.
How long are sessions?
Group circles run two hours, from 7pm to 9pm Eastern. Private 1:1 sessions are usually 75 to 90 minutes including the intake and integration.
Where exactly is the room?
The room is in the Village of St Jacobs (postal code N0B 2N0), about fifteen minutes north of downtown Kitchener-Waterloo. Because the room is small and private, the exact street address is shared with attendees in the booking confirmation email.
How do I pay? Can I get a refund?
All bookings are handled through Ticket Tailor. Every 'Reserve' button on this site links straight there. Credit for cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the session start.
What should I eat or drink beforehand?
A light meal two or three hours before the session works well. Avoid heavy meals immediately beforehand. Stay hydrated. Try to avoid caffeine close to start time. The practice already shifts the nervous system.
Do you offer corporate, retreat, or group bookings?
Yes. Use the contact form to start the conversation. Small private groups, retreats, and corporate offsites are all welcome.

Men’s circle, specifically

Questions about the men’s room.

Why men only, what the sharing round actually looks like, and what to expect on a first visit.

Why men only?
Some of the work men want to do in a room moves more easily in a men-only container. Grief, fatherhood, fear, longing, anger. The co-ed circles are excellent for relational and mixed-gender work. The men's circle is built for the conversations that benefit from a single-gender room.
Do I need to know anyone?
No. Most people arrive alone the first time. Many come back.
What does the 'sharing circle' actually look like?
An open round where each man speaks if he wants to, for as long or as short as he wants. The other men listen. No advice is offered, no feedback is given, no fixing. Honest, vulnerable connection in a safe environment.
