The Circle of Breath

St Jacobs · Kitchener-Waterloo

A small Friday circle for the breath.

Once a month in a candlelit room north of Kitchener-Waterloo, a small group sits down for two hours of conscious-connected breathwork, quiet journaling, and an honest sharing circle. Men's circles, co-ed circles, full-moon circles, and a 1:1 private session for the work that doesn't fit a group room.

What this is

Breath, used as a doorway to the subconscious.

The practice is called Conscious Connected Breathing. Some facilitators call it “psychedelic breathwork”, not because anything is consumed but because of what the breath itself can produce. Vivid imagery, deep emotional release, a sense of expanded connection to the world and the other people in the room.

You arrive at seven, you leave at nine. In between, you breathe, you write a page in a journal, and (if you want to) you speak honestly to a small room of other people doing the same.

The container is small, sober, and quiet. The work is yours. The facilitator’s job is to make the room safe enough that you can do it.

  1. 01

    Breathe.

A guided Conscious Connected Breath, kept up long enough for your nervous system to shift and the subconscious to open. Some sessions are bliss. Some are tears. Some are stillness. The room can hold any of it.

  2. 02

    Write.

Five to ten quiet minutes of journaling. The most useful sentence of the night usually gets written here. An image, a memory, a clear next step, or a small instruction.

  3. 03

    Share.

An optional round to speak honestly to the room. No advice, no feedback, no fixing. Just honest, vulnerable connection in a safe environment.
